        COMMENDING Delta Air Lines, Inc. upon the occasion
        of  its  designation  as  recipient of the Corporate
        Partner Award by UNCF on March 21, 2019

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay  tribute  to those corporate enterprises throughout the State of New
York which have substantially contributed to the  economic  vitality  of
their communities; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commend  Delta  Air  Lines, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Corporate Partner Award by UNCF to be celebrated at its
"A MIND IS..." Gala on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at The Lighthouse, Pier
61, New York City; and

  WHEREAS, Founded on May 30, 1924, Delta Air Lines,  Inc.,  typically
referred  to  as simply Delta, is a major United States airline with its
headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia; and

  WHEREAS, Delta Air Lines, along with its subsidiaries  and  regional
affiliates,  operates  over  5,400 flights daily and serves an extensive
domestic and international network which includes 304 destinations in 52
countries on six continents; and

  WHEREAS, A founding member of the SkyTeam  airline  alliance,  Delta
Air  Lines'  Regional  service  is  operated  under the brand name Delta
Connection; and

  WHEREAS, One of the five remaining legacy carriers, Delta Air  Lines
is the sixth-oldest operating airline by foundation date, and the oldest
airline still operating in the United States; and

  WHEREAS,  Delta  Air  Lines  has  eight hubs, with Atlanta being its
largest  in  terms  of  total  passengers  and  number  of   departures;
furthermore,  it  is  the  world's  second  largest  airline in terms of
scheduled passengers carried,  revenue  passenger-kilometers  flown  and
fleet size; and

  WHEREAS,  Under  the  able leadership of its current Chief Executive
Officer, Ed Bastian, Delta Air Lines employs nearly 80,000 people; and

  WHEREAS, In 2008, Delta Air Lines received an award from the  United
States  Environmental  Protection  Agency's  Design  for the Environment
(DfE)  program  for  its  use  of  PreKote,  reducing  water  usage  and
wastewater treatment; and

  WHEREAS,  In  2018, Delta Air Lines ranked No. 75 in the Fortune 500
list of the largest United States corporations by total revenue; and

  WHEREAS, It is  with  great  pleasure  that  this  Legislative  Body
acknowledges  Delta  Air  Lines'  contributions  to  the local and State
economies, and  extends  its  highest  commendation  to  this  corporate

enterprise, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the sparkling
success it has enjoyed thus far; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Delta Air Lines, Inc. upon the occasion of  its  designation  as
recipient  of the Corporate Partner Award by UNCF on March 21, 2019; and
be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted  to  Ed  Bastian,  Chief Executive Officer, Delta Air Lines,
Inc.
