        MOURNING   the   death   of   Robert   Rosenbloom,
        distinguished citizen, and  devoted  member  of  his
        community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

  WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Rosenbloom of  Ossining,  New  York,  died  on
Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the age of 76; and

  WHEREAS,  Robert  Rosenbloom distinguished himself in his profession
and by his  sincere  dedication  and  substantial  contribution  to  the
welfare of his community; and

  WHEREAS,  Robert  Rosenbloom's  commitment  to  excellence,  and his
spirit  of  humanity,  carried  over  into  all  fields  of  enterprise,
including charitable and civic endeavors; and

  WHEREAS, Born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 20, 1945, to the late
Harriet  (Silberstein)  and  S.  Eugene  Rosenbloom,  Robert  Rosenbloom
graduated from Princeton University  in  1967,  and  later  completed  a
Doctorate degree in Political Science at Stanford University; and

  WHEREAS,   Shortly  after  his  graduation  from  Princeton,  Robert
Rosenbloom served in Bolivia with the Peace Corps; proving  a  formative
experience  that shaped the trajectory of his life-long volunteerism, he
discovered passion for community  development,  as  well  as  for  Latin
American culture and the Spanish language; and

  WHEREAS, Robert Rosenbloom was an Assistant Professor of Politics at
Mount  Holyoke  college  before  moving  on to join the Corporate Social
Responsibility team at Chemical Bank (later JPMorgan  Chase  Foundation)
in 1983; and

  WHEREAS, Over the following 22 years, in a great act of selflessness
and  care  for  others,  Robert Rosenbloom and a group of his close-knit
colleagues  funded  millions  of  dollars  in   grants   to   charitable
organizations in the U.S. and around the world; and

  WHEREAS, Committed to social justice on a local level, and after his
retirement  from  JPMorgan Chase, Robert Rosenbloom worked part-time for
the  Housing  Action  Council,  helping  Westchester  residents   facing
foreclosure; for years, he sat on the boards of the IFCA Housing Network
and  the  Ethical  Society  of  Northern  Westchester;  he  additionally
volunteered with the Neighbors  Link  organization  to  help  immigrants
learn English and integrate into American life; and

  WHEREAS,  In  his  free  time,  Robert Rosenbloom's hobbies included
reading historical fiction or non-fiction, walking in Rockefeller  State
Park,  swimming  at  Club Fit, kayaking the Croton River, making lattes,

baking bread, eating ice cream, watching  movies,  enjoying  music,  and
spending time with his cherished friends and family; and

  WHEREAS,  Robert  Rosenbloom  is  survived  by his wife of 49 years,
Lisa; son, Philip; daughter, Kate;  grandsons,  Lucien  and  Caleb;  and
sisters, Bettyann and Jane; and

  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Robert Rosenbloom leaves behind a  legacy  which  will  long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Robert Rosenbloom, distinguished citizen, and devoted
member of his community; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Robert Rosenbloom.
