        HONORING  Jada  Warren-Fitts  upon the occasion of
        her designation as recipient of  the  Youth  of  the
        Year Award by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc. on February
        17, 2023

  WHEREAS,  It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring  the  youth  of  today,  and
leaders  of  tomorrow,  whose  character  and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jada  Warren-Fitts  upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Youth of the Year  Award  by  Stuy  Park  Lions  Club,  Inc.  to  be
celebrated  at  its  30th  Annual  Pearl  Red  and White Gala on Friday,
February 17, 2023, at Antun's, Queens Village, New York; and

  WHEREAS,  The  Stuy  Park  Lions  Club  is  part  of   Lions   Clubs
International,  one  of  the largest service organizations in the world,
and is deeply committed to meeting the challenges of public service; and

  WHEREAS, As a student at the Dr. Donald E. McNair Public  School  5,
Jada  Warren-Fitts  and her classmate instituted the Shower Bus program,
which are mobile hygiene units designed for those individuals who do not
have access to basic essentials such as a warm shower; and

  WHEREAS,  Jada  Warren-Fitts  and  her  friend   collected   donated
toiletries  for  those  in  need and brought the Shower Bus to the front
doors of Public School 5 for people to have a  private,  safe  space  to
clean themselves; and

  WHEREAS,  Today,  Jada  Warren-Fitts  continues to use her voice and
tireless efforts to try to make the world a better place to  live,  work
and play; and

  WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her mother, Sheila Fitts, and
her  two  sisters, Shakierra and Annajka, all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and

  WHEREAS, The success of the State of New York, the strength  of  our
communities,  and  the  vitality  of  American  society depend, in great
measure, upon the dedication of young people like Jada Warren-Fitts, who
use their considerable talents and resources to serve others; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor  Jada  Warren-Fitts
for  her  outstanding  record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and
community service, recognizing the value of her labors and  the  promise
of her future; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor  Jada  Warren-Fitts  upon  the  occasion  of  her  designation  as
recipient  of the Youth of the Year Award by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc.;
and be it further


  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jada Warren-Fitts.
