         Destito, Morelle, DelMonte, Stirpe, Lupardo, Russell, Schroeder, Phef-
         fer)  --  read once and referred to the Committee on Economic Develop-
         ment, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry
       AN ACT to amend the general municipal  law,  in  relation  to  extending
         empire zone designations
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 969  of  the  general  municipal
    2  law,  as  amended by section 10 of part S-1 of chapter 57 of the laws of
    3  2009, is amended to read as follows:
    4    (a) Except as provided in this section, any designation of an area  as
    5  an empire zone shall remain in effect during the period beginning on the
    6  date  of  designation  and  ending  June  thirtieth,  two thousand [ten]
    7  ELEVEN.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
