Roberts) -- (at request of the Thruway Authority) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to removing I-84 from the Catskill section of the thruway; and to repeal section 21 of the court of claims act relating to removing consent by the commis- sioner of the department of transportation for the settlement of claims by the canal corporation THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 356 of the public authorities law, 2 as amended by chapter 53 of the laws of 1992, is amended to read as 3 follows: 4 3. The Catskill section. Beginning at the northerly end of the Hudson 5 section, extending in a general northerly direction in the vicinity of 6 Central Valley, Highland Mills, Woodbury Falls, Vails Gate, thence 7 through or passing Newburgh on the west, [including a highway connection 8 which runs from the Pennsylvania line at Port Jervis to the Connecticut 9 border east of Brewster, presently known as interstate route 84, except 10 for that portion of the highway connection between the interchange with 11 the easternmost state highway on the west shore of the Hudson river 12 (currently designated state touring route 9W) and the interchange with 13 the westernmost state highway on the east shore of the Hudson river 14 (currently designated state touring route 9D) which is subject to the 15 jurisdiction of the New York state bridge authority,] thence northerly 16 past Plattekill and New Paltz, thence passing through or near the city 17 of Kingston and continuing northerly to the west of Saugerties and Cats- 18 kill, continuing northerly passing in the vicinity of West Coxsackie and 19 Ravena, thence northerly passing the Feura Bush railroad yards in the 20 vicinity of either their easterly or westerly extremities, thence 21 continuing northerly passing to the west or through the westerly part of 22 the city of Albany, and intersecting United States route number twenty 23 in the vicinity of McKownville. 24 S 2. Section 21 of the court of claims act is REPEALED. 25 S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
