         tee on Housing
       AN  ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to payments in lieu
         of taxes
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Section 402 of the public housing law is amended by adding
    2  a new subdivision 5-b to read as follows:
    3    5-B. THE NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY SHALL NOT  MAKE  PAYMENTS  IN
    4  LIEU  OF  TAXES,  AS  DEFINED  IN SUBDIVISION SEVENTEEN OF SECTION EIGHT
    5  HUNDRED FIFTY-FOUR OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW,  TO  THE  CITY  OF  NEW
    6  YORK.  ANY  PROVISION  OF  ANY AGREEMENT, CONTRACT, MEMORANDUM OF UNDER-
    7  STANDING, OR OTHER ARRANGEMENT  BY  WHICH  THE  NEW  YORK  CITY  HOUSING
    8  AUTHORITY  AGREES OR IS REQUIRED TO MAKE PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF TAXES SHALL
    9  BE NULL AND VOID; PROVIDED THAT THIS SUBDIVISION  SHALL  NOT  AFFECT  OR
   10  IMPAIR  THE  EFFECTIVENESS  OR  ENFORCEABILITY OF ANY OTHER PROVISION OF
   11  SUCH AGREEMENT, CONTRACT, MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, OR OTHER ARRANGE-
   12  MENT.
   13    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
