Bill Title: Directs the New York state energy research and development authority to establish and administer a $250 rebate for the purchase of motor fuel to every current New York state resident who has registered at least one passenger vehicle in his or her name in the past two years; directs the department of motor vehicles to generate a list of all residents of the state of New York who have registered a passenger vehicle in his or her name in the last two years and are current residents of the state of New York.

STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9870 IN ASSEMBLY April 19, 2022 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. ROZIC -- read once and referred to the Committee on Energy AN ACT directing the New York state energy research and development authority to establish and administer a rebate for the purchase of motor fuel The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The New York state energy research and development authori- 2 ty (NYSERDA) is hereby directed to establish and administer a program to 3 permit a $250 rebate to every current New York state resident who has 4 registered at least one passenger vehicle in his or her name in the past 5 two years for the purchase of motor fuel. A maximum of one $250 rebate 6 shall be permitted to each resident, regardless of the number of vehi- 7 cles registered in his or her name. Within thirty days of the effective 8 date of this act, the department of motor vehicles shall generate a list 9 of all residents in the state who have registered a passenger vehicle in 10 his or her name in the last two years and who are current residents of 11 the state. Such list shall be delivered to NYSERDA for the adminis- 12 tration of the motor fuel program. 13 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
