       AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring busi-
         nesses that purchase silver and gold to  display  current  silver  and
         gold prices
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
    2  391-s to read as follows:
    3    S 391-S. SILVER AND GOLD PRICES DISPLAYED. ANY BUSINESS THAT DEALS  IN
    4  THE  PURCHASE  OF  SILVER  OR GOLD FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESALE, MELTING OR
    5  REFINING SHALL DISPLAY A SIGN WITH THE CURRENT PRICES LISTED FOR  SILVER
    6  AND  GOLD  IN  A  PROMINENT  OR CONSPICUOUS LOCATION WITHIN THE BUSINESS
    7  ESTABLISHMENT.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
