       AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to requiring real
         property to be assessed at least once every five years
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 305 of the real property  tax  law  is  amended  by
    2  adding a new subdivision 4 to read as follows:
    3    4. ALL REAL PROPERTY IN EACH ASSESSING UNIT SHALL BE ASSESSED AT LEAST
    4  EVERY  FIVE  YEARS;  PROVIDED,  HOWEVER, THAT LOCAL LAW MAY REQUIRE REAL
    5  PROPERTY TO BE ASSESSED MORE FREQUENTLY.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
