          Committee on Labor

        AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation  to  increasing  the  minimum
          wage for certain employers

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 652 of the labor law is amended by
     2  adding a new paragraph (e) to read as follows:
     3    (e) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraphs (a), (b) and  (c)  of
     4  this  subdivision,  every  employer  reporting  an annual income of five
     5  hundred million dollars or more shall pay to each of its  employees  for
     6  each  hour  worked  not  less than $20.00 per hour, or, if greater, such
     7  other wage as may be established by federal law pursuant  to  29  U.S.C.
     8  section  206  or its successors or such other wage as may be established
     9  in accordance with the provisions  of  this  article.  Such  requirement
    10  shall apply to every franchise of a company if such company is reporting
    11  an  annual income of five hundred million dollars or more, regardless of
    12  the annual income of such franchise.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    14  it shall have become a law.
