STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8431 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY June 16, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. FINCH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the village law, in relation to the application of certain provisions of law relating to non-resident members of the volunteer fire department of the village of Elbridge, county of Onon- daga The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 7 of section 10-1006 of the village law, as 2 separately amended by chapters 117 and 215 of the laws of 2014, is 3 amended to read as follows: 4 7. The membership of any volunteer fireman shall not be continued 5 pursuant to subdivision five, and persons shall not be elected to 6 membership pursuant to subdivision six, if, by so doing, the percentage 7 of such non-resident members in the fire company would exceed forty-five 8 per centum of the actual membership of the fire company[,]; provided 9 however, that the provisions of this subdivision shall not apply to the 10 membership of the village of Blasdell volunteer fire department, 11 [provided however, that the provisions of this subdivision shall not12apply] to the membership of the village of Delanson volunteer fire 13 company in the village of Delanson, county of Schenectady, or to the 14 membership of the Elbridge volunteer fire department in the village of 15 Elbridge, county of Onondaga. 16 § 2.
