JOYNER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means AN ACT providing funding in cities having populations of one million or more for combating legionnaires' disease; appropriation THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The sum of fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) or so much 2 thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the New York City 3 department of health and mental hygiene and the department of environ- 4 mental protection, respectively, for the purpose of enforcing all laws, 5 rules and regulations designed to combat legionnaires' disease. Such 6 funds shall be drawn from the local assistance account. 7 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
