STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8309 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY November 27, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SAYEGH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Economic Development AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to exempting certain security guards from annual in-service training courses The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 89-n of the general business law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 3 5. A security guard shall be exempt from the requirements of paragraph 4 d of subdivision one of this section as long as he or she is currently 5 registered with the state to be a security guard and has a bachelor's 6 degree or higher from an accredited college or university in criminal 7 justice or an equivalent. 8 § 2.
