GRAF -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments -- recommitted to the Committee on Local Govern- ments in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee -- again reported from said committee with amend- ments, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to authorize the town of Islip, in the county of Suffolk, to lease parklands to the Suffolk County Police Athletic League The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act, the town of Islip, 2 located in the county of Suffolk, is hereby authorized, acting by and 3 through its town board, to lease to the Suffolk County Police Athletic 4 League, for up to thirty years, and upon such terms and conditions as 5 the town board deems appropriate, the municipally owned parklands more 6 particularly described in section four of this act. 7 § 2. Notwithstanding the failure of the town of Islip to seek and 8 receive state legislative authorization to alienate certain parklands as 9 described in section four of this act prior to the parklands being 10 leased to the Suffolk County Police Athletic League, such alienation is 11 hereby validated, legalized, ratified and confirmed. 12 § 3. The authorization provided in section one of this act shall be 13 effective only upon the condition that the town of Islip, county of 14 Suffolk, dedicate an amount equal to the fair market value of those 15 interests being transferred by this act, for the acquisition of addi- 16 tional parklands and/or for capital improvements to existing park and 17 recreational facilities. 18 § 4. The parklands authorized by section one of this act to be leased 19 to the Suffolk County Police Athletic League are as follows: EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted.
