LANCMAN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Labor AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to enacting the "Housekeeper Injury Prevention Act" requiring hotels and motels to use fitted sheets THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Short title. This act shall be known and may be cited as 2 the "Housekeeper Injury Prevention Act". 3 S 2. The labor law is amended by adding a new section 202-l to read as 4 follows: 5 S 202-L. USE OF FITTED SHEETS ON HOTEL AND MOTEL BEDS. EVERY KEEPER OF 6 A HOTEL OR MOTEL SHALL PROVIDE FOR THE USE OF A FITTED SHEET ON ALL BEDS 7 WITHIN THE ESTABLISHMENT. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, A FITTED SHEET 8 SHALL MEAN A BED SHEET CONTAINING ELASTIC OR SIMILAR MATERIAL SEWN INTO 9 EACH OF THE FOUR CORNERS THAT ALLOWS THE SHEET TO STAY IN PLACE OVER THE 10 MATTRESS. 11 S 3.
