       Introduced  by M. of A. RUSSELL -- read once and referred to the Commit-
         tee on  Education  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,  ordered
         reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
       AN  ACT  in  relation  to  the  reorganization of the Alexandria Central
         School District and the Thousand Island Central School District in the
         county of Jefferson; and providing for the repeal of  such  provisions
         upon expiration thereof
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1.  The Alexandria Central School District  and  the  Thousand
    2  Island  Central  School  District  may  be reorganized and a new central
    3  school district may be formed,  upon  consent  of  the  commissioner  of
    4  education,  provided that such reorganization is conducted in accordance
    5  with all  applicable  laws,  rules  and  regulations,  except  that  the
    6  districts shall not be required to be contiguous.
    7    S  2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire June 30,
    8  2016 when upon such date the provisions of  this  act  shall  be  deemed
    9  repealed.
