STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6207 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY April 3, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. NORRIS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a record- keeping and reporting exemption for notary publics for acts relating to the designation and nomination of candidates The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 135-d 2 to read as follows: 3 § 135-d. Recordkeeping and reporting. Notwithstanding any other 4 provision of law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, any act performed 5 by a notary public as it relates to the designation and nomination of 6 candidates pursuant to article six and section 15-108 of the election 7 law shall not be required to be recorded or maintained by such notary 8 public. 9 § 2.
