        AN  ACT  to  amend  the social services law, in relation to requiring an
          address as a condition of receiving assistance
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1. Subdivision 2 of section 134-a of the social services law,
     2  as amended by chapter 685 of the laws of 1975, is  amended  to  read  as
     3  follows:
     4     2.   At the time he or she applies for public assistance and care, an
     5  applicant shall, as a condition of receiving such aid, present proof  of
     6  his  or her identity to the social services official as the [department]
     7  office of temporary and disability assistance may by regulation require,
     8  and an address which shall be a residence, a  public  shelter,  or  such
     9  site  as  the  district  commissioner  shall  deem  appropriate  for the
    10  purposes of this subdivision, and [he] the recipient shall provide  such
    11  proof thereafter whenever required by such official.
    12    §  2.   This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
    13  have become a law.
