ZEBROWSKI, OTIS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions -- ordered to a third reading, amended and ordered reprinted, retaining its place on the order of third reading AN ACT to amend the public service law, in relation to responsibility for cable bills after a disconnection or downgrade in service The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 224-b of the public service law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3 3. If a customer requests a disconnection from service or a downgrade 4 in service from a cable television company, the customer shall only be 5 liable for services incurred up to such date the disconnection or down- 6 grade is effective. Customers that have paid in advance for the billing 7 period when the disconnection or downgrade occurred shall be entitled 8 to, on a pro rata basis, a refund, or in the event of a downgrade, a 9 billing credit. 10 § 2.
