STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5336 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 8, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. KOLB -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT in relation to prohibiting state funds from being used to provide post-secondary courses in state prisons The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "New York 2 State Kids Before Cons Act." 3 § 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no state funds shall 4 be used to provide or assist in providing a post-secondary course to an 5 inmate in a state prison. 6 § 3.
