        AN  ACT  to  amend  the public officers law, in relation to the employee
          status of certain persons working as guardians ad litem in the  county
          of Westchester

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Paragraph (w) of subdivision 1 of section 17 of the  public
     2  officers law, as added by chapter 510 of the laws of 2010, is amended to
     3  read as follows:
     4    (w)  For  purposes  of this section, the term "employee" shall include
     5  (i) a person certified by the office of court administration and paid by
     6  the city of New York to serve as a guardian ad litem  in  an  action  or
     7  proceeding pending in the housing part of the civil court of the city of
     8  New  York;  or  (ii)  a person certified by the office of court adminis-
     9  tration and paid by the county of Westchester to serve as a guardian  ad
    10  litem  in  a  non-payment,  holdover, or other landlord-tenant action or
    11  proceeding pending in a village, town, city, or other court in the coun-
    12  ty of Westchester.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
