STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 4720 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 5, 2021 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SMITH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Labor AN ACT limiting the power of the governor to give an executive order or otherwise direct an executive agency to take any action that contra- dicts state law; and to repeal certain provisions of the labor law relating thereto The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The governor shall not issue any executive order or give 2 any direction to any executive agency to take any action that contra- 3 dicts any current state law. 4 § 2. Subdivision 6 of section 652 of the labor law is REPEALED. 5 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
