       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to school bus seating
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 3635-d
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 3635-D. SCHOOL BUS SEATING. WHERE PRACTICABLE, THE YOUNGEST CHILDREN
    4  SHALL BE SEATED IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL BUS AND THE  OLDEST  CHILDREN
    5  SEATED  IN  THE  REAR OF THE SCHOOL BUS. ADDITIONALLY, ANY CHILDREN WITH
    6  DISABILITIES OR DISORDERS THAT  RESULT  IN  COMMUNICATION  DIFFICULTIES,
    7  SHALL BE SEATED IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL BUS CLOSEST TO THE DRIVER.
    8    S  2.  This act shall take effect on the first of July next succeeding
    9  the date on which it shall have become a law.
