HEVESI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to school bus seating THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 3635-d 2 to read as follows: 3 S 3635-D. SCHOOL BUS SEATING. WHERE PRACTICABLE, THE YOUNGEST CHILDREN 4 SHALL BE SEATED IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL BUS AND THE OLDEST CHILDREN 5 SEATED IN THE REAR OF THE SCHOOL BUS. ADDITIONALLY, ANY CHILDREN WITH 6 DISABILITIES OR DISORDERS THAT RESULT IN COMMUNICATION DIFFICULTIES, 7 SHALL BE SEATED IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL BUS CLOSEST TO THE DRIVER. 8 S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of July next succeeding 9 the date on which it shall have become a law.
