       AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to duties of provid-
         ers of services for the developmentally disabled
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.    Section  31.11  of the mental hygiene law is amended by
    2  adding two new subdivisions 6 and 7 to read as follows:
    3    6. POSTING A VISIBLE NOTICE IN GROUP  HOMES  FOR  THE  DEVELOPMENTALLY
    4  DISABLED  STATING  THAT NEW YORK LAW MANDATES ALL MANDATORY REPORTERS OR
    5  EYEWITNESSES TO ABUSE OR NEGLECT TO REPORT ALL FORMS OF ABUSE  TO  LOCAL
    6  LAW  ENFORCEMENT  AND  DISTRICT  ATTORNEYS. THIS NOTICE SHALL INFORM THE
    7  EMPLOYEE OF THE NEED TO CALL 911 IN SUCH CASES. IT  SHALL  ALSO  CONTAIN
    8  THE PHONE NUMBER OF THE LOCAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY.
    9    7. ENSURING THAT ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PROPERLY TRAINED WITH REGARD TO THE
   10  REPORTING  REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL FORMS OF ABUSE AND AS TO THE LOCATION OF
   11  THE POSTING REQUIRED IN SUBDIVISION SIX OF THIS SECTION.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
