ENGLEBRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the right to "tabling" on a college campus THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 6430 of the education law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 3 7. AS USED IN THIS SUBDIVISION, "TABLING" SHALL MEAN THE DISSEMINATION 4 OF INFORMATION THROUGH DISPLAYING LITERATURE AND/OR SIGN UP SHEETS AND 5 VERBAL ENTICING WITH THE POSSIBLE USE OF A TABLE AND CHAIRS IN A PUBLIC 6 PLACE. ANY CLUB OR ORGANIZATION OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED BY THE STUDENT 7 GOVERNMENT OR ADMINISTRATION OF A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY SHALL NOT BE 8 RESTRICTED IN ANY MANNER FROM TABLING BY THE EXTERIOR OF ANY BUILDING ON 9 CAMPUS AS LONG AS THE TABLING DOES NOT PROHIBIT OR UNDULY RESTRICT THE 10 ACCESS TO THE BUILDING OR DISRUPT THE ACADEMIC USES OF THE BUILDING. 11 S 2.
