       AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to  supplies  furnished
         by secretary and clerk
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 16 of the legislative law is amended  by  adding  a
    2  new subdivision c to read as follows:
    3    C.  IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT PURCHASED PURSUANT
    4  TO THIS SECTION  EACH  MEMBER  OF  THE  SENATE  AND  ASSEMBLY  SHALL  BE
    5  FURNISHED WITH A LAP TOP COMPUTER FOR USE ON THE RESPECTIVE FLOOR OF THE
    6  SENATE AND ASSEMBLY AND IN THE RESPECTIVE OFFICE OF EACH MEMBER. THE USE
    7  OF  SAID  LAP  TOP  COMPUTERS BY THE MEMBERS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
    8  RULES AND REGULATIONS PROMULGATED BY  THE  TEMPORARY  PRESIDENT  OF  THE
    9  SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE ASSEMBLY.
   10    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
