STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2248 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY January 17, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. MONTESANO, LUPINACCI, CROUCH, RAIA, BLANKENBUSH, McKEVITT, McDONOUGH, GRAF, FINCH, LALOR, GOODELL, SALADINO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law and the general municipal law, in relation to the authorization of school districts to enter into lease purchase agreements for the acquisition of security solutions The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 2801-a of the education law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 10 to read as follows: 3 10. Each school district shall be authorized to enter into three to 4 five year lease purchase agreements for the acquisition of cloud deliv- 5 ered security solutions that assist school districts in providing for 6 general school safety and school safety planning including, but not 7 limited to, providing state agencies and local first responders with 8 interactive digital accurate verified floor plans marked with critical 9 assets and building navigation, contact lists and emergency plans. Such 10 solutions shall be purchased subject to the provisions of section one 11 hundred nine-b of the general municipal law. 12 § 2. Subdivision 1 of section 109-b of the general municipal law is 13 amended by adding a new paragraph (e-1) to read as follows: 14 (e-1) "Equipment" for the purposes of this article, shall include 15 security solutions which assist school districts in providing for gener- 16 al school safety and school safety planning. 17 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however that 18 the amendments to subdivision 1 of section 109-b of the general munici- 19 pal law made by section two of this act shall not affect the repeal of 20 such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
