          Committee on Governmental Operations

        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to disclosure of federal,
          state or local government  funding  by  respondents  in  human  rights
          claims;  and  to amend the general obligations law, in relation to the
          disclosure of certain information  by  the  state  division  of  human
          rights notwithstanding nondisclosure agreements

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1.   Subdivision 4 of section 297  of  the  executive  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph f to read as follows:
     3    f.  Prior  to the hearing required by paragraph a of this subdivision,
     4  the respondent shall notify the division if they are a recipient of  any
     5  federal,  state or local government funding, the provider and purpose of
     6  such funding, and the amount of such funding.
     7    § 2. Section 5-336 of the general obligations law is amended by adding
     8  a new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
     9    3. When a settlement, agreement or other resolution of a claim results
    10  from a complaint to the state division of  human  rights  under  article
    11  fifteen  of the executive law and one or more parties to the settlement,
    12  agreement or other resolution is the recipient of funds from any  feder-
    13  al,  state,  or local agency or department and such information has been
    14  disclosed pursuant to paragraph f of subdivision  four  of  section  two
    15  hundred  ninety-seven  of the executive law, the state division of human
    16  rights shall notify such federal, state, or local agency  or  department
    17  of  such  agreement  or  resolution,  notwithstanding  the  provision of
    18  nondisclosure between the parties.
    19    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
