       AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to the publication of  judi-
         cial proceedings
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The county law is amended by adding a new  section  535  to
    2  read as follows:
    3    S 535. DESIGNATION OF NEWSPAPERS BY COUNTY CLERK. WHERE A COUNTY CLERK
    4  IS  REQUIRED BY LAW TO DESIGNATE ONE OR MORE NEWSPAPERS FOR THE PUBLICA-
    5  TION OF LEGAL NOTICES, SUCH NEWSPAPER OR, IF THERE BE MORE THAN ONE, ONE
    6  SUCH NEWSPAPER SHALL BE THE NEWSPAPER OR JOURNAL, IF ANY, DESIGNATED  BY
    7  LAW  FOR  THE  PUBLICATION OF EVERY NOTICE AND ADVERTISEMENT OF JUDICIAL
    8  PROCEEDINGS IN THE COUNTY.
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
