       AN ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation to the size of  municipal
         corporations  eligible  to participate in municipal cooperative health
         benefit plans
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Section  4704 of the insurance law is amended by adding a
    2  new subsection (d) to read as follows:
    3    (D) NOTWITHSTANDING THE  PROVISIONS  OF  SECTION  THREE  THOUSAND  TWO
    4  HUNDRED  THIRTY-ONE  OF  THIS CHAPTER, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION WITH LESS
    5  THAN FIFTY EMPLOYEES SHALL BE ELIGIBLE TO  PARTICIPATE  IN  A  MUNICIPAL
    6  COOPERATIVE HEALTH BENEFIT PLAN.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
