Spectrum: Partisan Bill (Democrat 1-0)
Status: Introduced on March 13 2009 - 25% progression, died in chamber
Action: 2009-07-14 - SIGNED CHAP.221

Summary

This bill will change the American Museum of Natural History Planetarium Authority board from being identi- cal to the board of trustees of the Museum to a board consisting of members independent of the Museum. It will also separate the governance of the Museum from that of the Planetarium Authority, but allow for the Museum to continue the lease and operation of the planetarium building. The effect of the amendment is that it will make clear that the Museum is not an affiliate of the Planetarium Authority and will not be regu- lated as a public authority on the basis of any such affiliation. After the amendment, the Planetarium Authority will continue to be regulated as a public authority but the Museum will not.
