Summary
The purpose of this bill is to expand access to basic education programs for public assistance recipients and to provide that some participation in a basic education program under certain circumstances is considered an allowable work activity that counts toward a recipient's work requirements.

An act to amend the social services law, in relation to the availability of adult basic literacy, English for speakers of other languages, and high school equivalency education for public assistance recipients; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof
