SYNOPSIS

     Provides for technological upgrade of application process for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

An Act concerning applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and supplementing Title 44 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Consistent with federal law, the Commissioner of Human Services shall permit applicants for the 1[federal food stamp program, authorized by Title XIII of] Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, established pursuant to1 the "Food and 1[Agriculture] Nutrition1 Act of 1[1977] 20081," Pub.L.1[95-113] 110-2461 (7 U.S.C.s.2011 et seq.), to apply by phone, 1to1 upload required documentation through an online application, and 1to1 submit required documentation by electronic mail if the online application is unavailable.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect 180 days after the date of enactment.
