STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty

 

AN ACT establishing a safari hunting license for hunting certain exotic game.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Hunting Preserve; Permit Required.  Amend RSA 212:25 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:

III.  Any person wishing to take exotic game including wild boar or elk from a hunting preserve authorized under paragraphs I and II, or as may be exempted from such permits under state law, shall apply for and obtain from the fish and game department a safari hunting license.  The application shall be accompanied by a fee to be determined in rules by the executive director.  Applicants granted a safari hunting license shall be entitled to take, except by the use of traps, and to transport from a hunting preserve pursuant to the restrictions of this title.  The executive director shall deposit all fees collected for the issuance of this license into the fish and game fund.

2  General Provisions; Exceptions.  Amend RSA 207:45 to read as follows:

207:45  Exceptions.  Nothing in this title shall repeal any special laws of the state relating only to the Blue Mountain Forest Association, provided that any person taking exotic game on the property of such Association shall comply with the license requirements of RSA 212:25, III.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2021.
