HOUSE BILL 1374

 

AN ACT relative to the membership of local land use boards.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two

 

AN ACT relative to the membership of local land use boards.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Establishment of Local Land Use Boards; Membership.  Amend RSA 673:1, I to read as follows:

I. Any local legislative body may establish a planning board[, the members of which shall be residents of the municipality].

2  New Paragraph; Establishment of Local Land Use Boards; Membership.  Amend RSA 673:1 by inserting after paragraph V the following new paragraph:

VI.  Voting members of any local land use board established pursuant to paragraphs I, II, or IV, and of a building code board of appeals established pursuant to paragraph V, including ex officio members, shall be residents of the municipality in which they serve.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
