A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to study the validity of the comprehensive agreement for the i‑77 hot lanes project in mecklenburg and iredell counties.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Study. – The Division of Purchase and Contract in the Department of Administration, in consultation with the Fiscal Research Division of the General Assembly and any other person the Division of Purchase and Contract determines to have special training or knowledge on the bidding and awarding of public contracts, shall study the validity of the Comprehensive Agreement for the I‑77 HOT Lanes project in Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties, specifically focusing on the issue of compliance with the applicable State and federal laws governing the bidding and awarding of public contracts. The Division of Purchase and Contract shall report its findings, including any recommended legislation, to the 2017 General Assembly by April 1, 2017.
SECTION 2. Effective Date. – This act is effective when it becomes law.
