A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to require any appointments by buncombe county to a metropolitan planning organization to provide for geographic representation of the county.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  In making appointments to any metropolitan planning organization established under Article 16 of Chapter 136 of the General Statutes, the Buncombe County Commissioners may not appoint more than one elected official from each commissioner district in Buncombe County.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2013, and applies to any appointments made on or after that date.
