A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to restore funding to the prison education program in the North carolina community college system, as recommended by the joint Legislative study commission on Poverty reduction and economic recovery.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated to the Community College System fiscal year the sum of thirty‑two million eight hundred ninety‑nine thousand seven hundred fifteen dollars ($32,899,715) for the 2010‑2011 to provide educational programs for inmates in the custody of the Department of Correction.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2010.
