A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to make it a class 3 misdemeanor to make an unneeded ambulance request in Bladen and columbus counties.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 14‑111.3 reads as rewritten:

"§ 14‑111.3.  Making unneeded ambulance request in certain counties.

It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to willfully obtain or attempt to obtain ambulance service that is not needed, or to make a false request or report that an ambulance is needed. Every person convicted of violating this section shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor.

This section shall apply only to the Counties of Alamance, Ashe, Bladen, Buncombe, Cabarrus, Camden, Carteret, Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Columbus, Davie, Duplin, Durham, Graham, Greene, Halifax, Haywood, Hoke, Macon, Madison, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Polk, Robeson, Rockingham, Washington, Wilkes and Yadkin."

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective December 1, 2014, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
