A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to amend the increase In state liability under the Tort Claims act passed by the General assembly in 2007 to specify that the increase applies to claims pending on the date of passage of the act.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Session Law 2007‑452 reads as rewritten:
"SECTION 3. This act is effective when it becomes
law. This act applies with respect to torts committed on or after tort
claims pending on the date this act becomes law.law or arising
from torts committed on or after that date."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
