A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO appropriate funds FOR the STUDENT 2 STUDENT initiative.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction the sum of five hundred ten thousand dollars ($510,000) for the 2012‑2013 fiscal year for the Student 2 Student Initiative.  The Student 2 Student Initiative is a program of the Military Child Education Coalition that connects military‑connected and civilian students in middle and high school to assist with transition and peer support.

 SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2012.
