Senate Concurrent Resolution 649
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING CHRISTOPHER J. DEDUAL FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE JEFFERSON DAVIS CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual, a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual, a Developmental Mathematics Instructor, has been employed and taught at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past seven years; and
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual is a member of the Louisiana-Mississippi Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges; the National Association for Developmental Education; the Mississippi Association for Developmental Education; and the National Academic Advising Association; and
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual serves as the Jefferson Davis Campus Scholars Bowl Team sponsor and as a member of various college committees; and
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual is a member of St. John Catholic Church and serves as a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Salvation Army and March of Dimes; and
WHEREAS, Christopher J. DeDual is a current doctoral student; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend such outstanding teachers as Christopher J. DeDual, who has dedicated his career to teaching the young people of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Christopher J. DeDual for being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be presented to Christopher J. DeDual, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and the Capitol Press Corps.
