A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING TERESA WELLS FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE JEFFERSON DAVIS CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

WHEREAS, Ms. Wells, a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and

WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Wells, a Language Arts Instructor, Honors Director and Phi Theta Kappa Advisor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past 14 years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Wells received her Associate of Arts from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Bachelor of Science in English from The University of Southern Mississippi, and Master of Arts in Teaching Language from The University of Southern Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Wells has received the Twenty-Eighth Street Elementary School 2015 Community Partner of the Year Award and multiple Phi Theta Kappa Advisor Awards; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend an outstanding teacher, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Teresa Wells for being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to her our heartiest wishes of success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Ms. Teresa Wells, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
