Senate Concurrent Resolution 594
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE BUSINESS AND CIVIC LEADERSHIP OF HARRY MOORE WALKER ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS PRESIDENT OF MISSISSIPPI BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS FOR TRUSTMARK BANK.
WHEREAS, Harry Walker has certainly made a significant contribution to the Mississippi business community, the Jackson community and to the State of Mississippi with his years of tireless and devoted service. Harry worked for Trustmark from 1972 until his recent retirement on December 31, 2016, and is currently a member of Trustmark's Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Harry's work highlights include:
� President of Trustmark Mississippi Business and Community Relations;
� President of the Trustmark Central Mississippi Region;
� Chief Lending Officer;
� Real Estate Department Manager;
� Head of Municipal Investments; and
WHEREAS, his Civic and Leadership Activity Affiliations include:
� Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce (President from 2004-2011);
� Mississippi Baptist Health Systems;
� Andrew Jackson Council of the Boy Scouts of America;
� Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation;
� Downtown Jackson Partners;
� Jackson Medical Mall Foundation;
� Mississippi Valley Title Insurance Company;
� YMCA;
� Dixie National Rodeo Association Sale of Champions Committee;
� Executive Committee of the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership;
� Mississippi Banker's Association;
� Mississippi Museum of Art;
� BIPEC;
� United Way of the Capital Area;
� The Nature Conservancy;
� Junior Achievement of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Harry, a native of Taylorsville, Mississippi, and has been married to Deery Mott Walker of Yazoo City since 1977 and they have two grown children, Anna and Will, who reside out of state. He is a 1972 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi with a Master of Business Administration Degree from Mississippi College and Graduate Certificate from Louisiana State University School of Banking; and
WHEREAS, Harry Walker has built an indelible legacy of business and civic progress and we commend his record of achievement and leadership:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize the Business and Civic Leadership of Harry Moore Walker on the occasion of his retirement as President of Mississippi Business and Community Relations for Trustmark Bank, and extend our best wishes to Harry and his family on this auspicious occasion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Harry Walker, forwarded to the Board of Directors of Trustmark Bank, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
