A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. PATRICK R. WILCHER FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Mr. Patrick Wilcher, a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and
WHEREAS, the prestigious award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of his or her teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Patrick Wilcher, a Department Chair and Mathematics Instructor has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past nineteen years; and
WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Mr. Patrick Wilcher received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Wilcher has worked as a graduate assistant for the University of Mississippi, a mathematics teacher at Richland High School, an adjunct mathematics instructor for the University of Tennessee-Southern prior to his career as a Mathematics Instructor and Department Chair for the School of Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, and Information Technology at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend such an outstanding teacher as Mr. Wilcher, who has dedicated his career to teaching the students of the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Patrick Wilcher for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our sincere wishes for success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Mr. Patrick Wilcher, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
