AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOWNDES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE AVAILABLE LOCAL FISCAL RECOVERY FUNDS RECEIVED UNDER THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT TO ANY PUBLIC UTILITY OR WATER OR SEWER ASSOCIATION OPERATING WITHIN THE COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSES OF EXPANDING OR REPAIRING WATER AND SEWER INFRASTRUCTURE WITHIN THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Lowndes County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute an amount not to exceed available Local Fiscal Recovery Funds received under the American Rescue Plan Act to any public utility or water or sewer association operating within Lowndes County for the purposes of expanding or repairing water and sewer infrastructure within Lowndes County.
(2) This section shall be repealed from and after July 1, 2027.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
