Senate Bill 3089

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT BREEDING PENS FOR WHITE-TAILED DEER MAY BE SMALLER THAN THE STATUTORY MINIMUM ACREAGE FOR DEER ENCLOSURES; TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSION ON WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS TO ALLOW SUCH PENS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  Breeding pens for white-tailed deer may be smaller than the statutory or regulatory minimum acreage for deer enclosures.

     (2)  The Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is authorized to permit breeding pens for white-tailed deer to be smaller than the minimum acreage required for deer enclosures.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
