AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF STONE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR THE EAST MCHENRY ROAD PROJECT PHASE II THAT MAY EXTEND BEYOND 30 DAYS FROM THE TERMINATION AND END OF THE TERM OF OFFICE OF SUCH BOARD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) As used in this section "road project" means the East McHenry Road Project Phase II, Project Number EFL-0066(34)B, located in Stone County, Mississippi.
(2) Notwithstanding the provision of Section 67-1-95 that prohibits contracts for the working, construction, reconstruction and maintenance of the public roads of a county from extending beyond thirty (30) days from the termination and end of the term of office of the members of the board of supervisors awarding it, the Board of Supervisors of Stone County, Mississippi, may enter into all necessary contracts to complete construction, reconstruction and paving of that portion of East McHenry Road in Stone County, Mississippi, covered by the road project.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
