Senate Bill 2933

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF GREENWOOD, MISSISSIPPI, TO DONATE SOME OR ALL OF THE KATRINA COTTAGES CONVEYED TO THE CITY IN 2011 BY THE MISSISSIPPI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO BONA FIDE NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS  ENGAGED IN PROVIDING LOW-INCOME HOUSING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Greenwood, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to donate some or all of the Katrina cottages conveyed to the city in 2011 by the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency to bona fide not-for-profit organizations engaged in providing low-income housing.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
