AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 918, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2017, AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 946, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2018, TO EXTEND THE REPEAL DATE, FROM JULY 1, 2021, TO JULY 1, 2025, ON THE PROVISION OF LAW AUTHORIZING CONTRIBUTIONS BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOWNDES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO THE UNITED WAY OF LOWNDES COUNTY; TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM ANNUAL AMOUNT OF SUCH CONTRIBUTIONS FROM $130,000.00 to $150,000.00 FOR FISCAL YEARS 2021, 2022 AND 2023; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Chapter 918, Local and Private Laws of 2017, as amended by Chapter 946, Local and Private Laws of 2018, is amended as follows:
Section 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Lowndes County, Mississippi, in its discretion, is authorized to contribute annually an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000.00), out of any available funds, to the United Way of Lowndes County, for the purpose of assisting in the funding of charitable programs.
(2) Notwithstanding the maximum amount of annual contributions provided in subsection (1) of this section, for fiscal years 2021, 2022 and 2023, the maximum amount of such annual contributions shall be One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00).

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
